As you might already know, the AllyBeth team is currently in the middle of a move (hooray) and by team, I basically mean me (since my husband is currently down for the count after having knee surgery last week) (double hooray).
All joking aside, the landlord who owns our townhouse had decided to put the property up for sale at the beginning of June, and there have already been multiple offers. We are so thankful that we found another place to move to so quickly (a true hooray!) but that means we are moving at the end of the month. For the past two weeks, I’ve been attempting to pack up almost every room in the house, including our garage workshop, studio and my office. It’s been a challenging feat running a business out of storage boxes!
It goes without saying that I’ve needed a lot of coffee not only to get me going, but to keep me going. The whole Bulletproof Coffee system has been on my radar for a while, for a couple of reasons. I’ve been slowly phasing out the amount of dairy in my diet, but while milk and cheese seems to be easy for me to give up, I’m having a really hard time with my greek yogurt in my smoothies and my cream in my coffee. I know I can’t be the only one! That being said, I was intrigued by the whole replacing cream with ghee in my coffee, so I thought this week would be a good week to give it a try!
I also opted for the brain octane oil in my coffee, for the added energy boast (not to mention it’s ability to limit cravings) – and found that I noticed a real difference as I went about my day. I did find the oil takes a little time to get used to, so I adjusted the amount I added to my coffee down just a little to make it more for my liking. I also recommend blending cooled coffee with ice in addition to the ghee and oil, as it makes it into a healthy frappacino type beverage, which was perfect for those scorcher days we had over the weekend!
Overall I love the idea of making small changes in our daily routines that make a big difference in our lives (and energy levels) overall. I’m not one to diet, but I often pay close attention to the choices I’m making on a daily basis, especially when it comes to my health.
